On May 11th, a vibrant spectacle unfolded as the semi-final of the "Energy China Nigeria" Dance Competition took center stage at the esteemed China Cultural Center in Nigeria. Jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, and the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, the event radiated with cultural fervor and excitement.


Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Zhang Yi, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, Li Xuda, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria and Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, Liu Zhanping, Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, as well as esteemed personalities like Suleiman, President of the Nigerian National Artists Association and President of the Chinese Alumni Association, and Ngozi, Director of the Nigerian Women Artists Association.


Adding to the jubilant atmosphere, Liu Zhaolong, the head of BGICC, attended the event accompanied by his dedicated team. In a heartwarming gesture, they invited Ms. Zhao Yuxia, representing their family, to partake in this cultural exchange extravaganza between China and Nigeria.

They marveled at the exceptional talent and boundless enthusiasm displayed by dance enthusiasts from both nations.


Following the competition, Liu Zhaolong had the honor of presenting awards to some of the deserving winners, further cementing BGICC's commitment to celebrating and fostering cultural exchange and mutual appreciation.

Yet, her love for Chinese culture burns brightly within her. Inspired by the cultural vibrancy of the dance competition, Ms. Zhao envisions bringing her hometown art troupe from Xuzhou to Nigeria. With their arrival, she hopes to infuse the spirit of Chinese culture into the hearts of Nigerians, creating joyful and unforgettable moments for all.


As the lead singer of the art troupe, Ms. Zhao firmly believes in the transformative power of cultural exchange. She is confident that these interactions will forge lasting bonds and create cherished memories for the people of both China and Nigeria.
