A Chinese company, formally commenced its 1 million tonne per annum alumina production line in Indonesia's Borneo, in a bid to boost the production capacity cooperation between China and Indonesia.
The factory, integrated with a self-produced power plant and seaport in West Kalimantan Province's Ketapang Regency, processes local bauxite into alumina, a material for production of aluminum.
The plant is China's first overseas investment in alumina refining as well as the first alumina factory in Indonesia.
