ACHIEVEMENTS
On May 13, 2013, the bucket dredger designed for Jilin Waterway Management Bureau was on trial. The bucket dredger has a total length of 32m, a width of 8.5m, a molded depth of 1.9m, a capacity of 180m3, a maximum dredging depth of 5m.
On November 20, 2011,the trial of self-propelled suction dredger “Tongtu” with Asia’s largest capacity and dredging depth fabricated by CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. (TDC) succeeded. “Tongtu” is a super large self-propelled suction dredger independently designed, developed and fabricated by China. The dredger has a total length of 165.7 meters, a molded width of 30m, a molded depth of 15m, a capacity of 20,467m3, a maximum dredging depth of 90m and a total installed power of 22,320kW, its major equipment is driven through frequency conversion, and the maximum power of its dredge pump is up to 6,000kW.
The dredger can accomplish independent dredging, dynamic positioning and dynamic trajectory tracking, is seaworthy in unrestricted waters, and can undertake port, channel dredging, reclamation, silt sucking and coast maintenance projects in the world.
After going into operation, “Tongtu” will play a significant role in further improving TDC’s dredging capacity and enhancing China’s role and competitiveness in the world dredging market.
In 2009, the largest cutter suction dredger (CSD) in China was launched by YiYangZhonghai Shipyard Co., Ltd, with its dredging speed reaching 3,800 cubic meters per hour and the maximum dredging depth 28m. This CSD is mainly used for such construction works as navigation channel dredging in coastal waters, coast reclamation and hydraulic fill, etc.
The performance parameters of the main equipments are all up to the advanced standards in China.
On November 28, 2013, the reclamation project of the artificial island of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge for Zhuhai and Macao ports, undertaken by the consortium of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. and the consortium of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd., supervised by CCCC Fourth Harbor Consultants Co., Ltd., wound up, bringing the project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge into the new stage of island port construction.
With a total investment of 2.386 billion yuan, the project broke ground in December 2009 as the first commenced and completed project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Located in the offshore waters of Gongbei Bay, Zhuhai, with a reclamation area of 208.87 hectares, the project formed a land area the size of 300 football pitches and measuring 6 kilometers in perimeter. During the construction, the project team overcame various hardships like typhoon and eventually accomplished “zero accident, zero pollution and zero casualty” with the coordination and concerted efforts of all sides.
According to sources, the artificial island for Zhuhai and Macao ports is the center connecting the main works of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to Zhuhai and Macao. Stretching 930-960 meters from west to east and 1,930 meters from north to south, with a completed elevation of 4.8 meters, the formed island can resist tide once 300 years at Pearl River Estuary.
After the bridge is built up, both Zhuhai and Macao ports will be located on the “artificial island” formed through reclamation, and the island will become a general operation center integrating functions such as transportation, management, service, rescue and sightseeing.
The main construction work of the Sun Island Reclamation Project, which is located in Waning’s Riyue bay, or Sun Moon Bay, is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2013, according to reports.
The reclamation project, with a total investment of 710 million yuan, covers around 492,000 square meters.
According to plans, the artificial island is to be constructed into a brand new international tourism resort with facilities including surf clubs, yacht clubs, hotels, an aquarium, a business center, a yacht dock and a fireworks square.
The island is expected to receive around 5 million tourists annually after completion, generating annual revenue of 3 billion yuan and creating 12,000 jobs.
