Achievements
On 25th Dec 2013, China Water Diversion Office released that the main body of the first term MRP had been completed. Also, it would be commissioning with water in October 2014 according to the plan. The project was started at year of 2003 and the water would be drawn from the Danjiangkou Reservoir in Henan and Hubei junction. It goes northward along the west side of Beijing-Guangzhou railway crossing Henan,Hebei to Beijing and Tianjing. The total cost of project is 201.3 billion CNY, And the main canal is 1,432km. It said that the project could annually supply northern part of china with 9.5 billion m3 water and could effectively relieve the pressure of water shortage. Approximately, 100 million people would benefit from the project.
