Achievement of China hydro power
China's water resources development has made great achievements. At present, China has built 45,000 small hydropower projects, the installed capacity of 51 million kilowatts, annual output reached more than 1,600 kilowatt-hours, which rank the first in the world.
China has built World's largest hydropower plant---San Xia hydropower plant, a total of 18.2 million kilowatts installed capacity, 26 pcs 700,000 kw hydro-generator units. The first million kilowatt hydropower station - Liujiaxia hydropower station in Gansu province, a total of 1.16 million kilowatts, installed 5 domestic units.

Eliminate small thermal power plant, energy conservation and emissions reduction effect is very good. The accumulative elimination of small thermal power plant is 66.74 million kw which can save 75.8 million tons of raw coal per year, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions of 1.31 million tons and 154 million tons of carbon dioxide.
Clean coal technology is progressive. Our country is also actively promote clean coal technology development and application.
1. The development of coal gasification - steam combined cycle power generation plant. For Example, construction of Hua Neng IGCC demonstration project in Tianjin in 2007.
2. The development of circulating fluidized bed combustion technology. Started to build 600,000 kilowatt grade CFB unit demonstration project in 2011.
3. To explore the carbon capture and sequestration technologies. Already built 3000 tons and 100,000 tons grade CCS device.
